Zara Rutherford has become an example of audacity by going around the world in 155 days.
Zara is an activist for women's empowerment and equality and is a pilot who in 2022 broke a record by circumnavigating the globe in a small plane and became the youngest woman to fly alone around the world. Her trip lasted 4 months and 26 days. She was born into a family of aviators and is fortunate to have her parents and grandparents as role models. With her legacy and her experience, Zara seeks to encourage young women to pursue their dreams and reduce the gender gap in aviation, as well as in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
About her trip, Zara Rutherford, who is British-Belgian, says: “Only 5% of commercial pilots and 15% of computer scientists are women. With my flight, I want to show young women that they can be bold, ambitious and make their dreams come true.”
